Tax Credits and Rebates

Tax credits and rebates are available now to make your home more efficient!

You may have heard about the available government incentives for taking the leap and getting started with  energy improvements for your home or office. Home improvement work that is performed between 2009 & 2010 will be eligible for stimulus plan tax credits on services like HVAC upgrades, distribution system improvements, insulation and even air sealing. These available tax credits are also available for solar.

See how you can take advantage of these exclusive incentives.

Basic Upgrades – Up to $1,500.00 available:

The first step to any home efficiency project is to evaluate the homes potential for energy reduction and begin with the low hanging fruits like sealing the envelope and upgrading insulation to create a complete thermal boundary. These improvements alone show typical reductions between 20 and 35 percent.

What’s qualified for the tax incentive?
30% of the materials cost (not labor) on items like windows, doors, insulation and even roofs

Beyond - Up to $1,500.00 available:

Following the initial steps mentioned above, we would then focus on the large systems that allow your home to remain comfortable over time. Unless your heating and cooling system is energy efficient and working optimally, you will continue to spend money and lack the comfort you desire. By purchasing new, efficient systems that provide heating, air conditioning and water heating, you could see your savings shoot up and feel the enhanced comfort.

What’s qualified for the tax incentive?
Total cost of materials and labor up to $1,500.00 on items like high efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters and air source heat pumps.

Long Term Savings - (No Cap on cost of materials and installation – up to 30%):

Following completion of the items above, renewable energy such as Solar PV may be added to your building to complete the retrofit and attempt to zero out your electric bills.
